Privacy Policy

This page explains, in plain language, what information Treasure Valley Insider / What's Up 208 ("we," "us") collects, why we collect it, and how you can get a copy of your data or ask us to delete it. If anything here is unclear, your message goes straight to the owner: brayden@whatsup208.com.
What we collect and why
If you subscribe to our emails or use the public site:
- Your email address (and optionally your name, city, and event interests) so we can send you the newsletter you asked for.
- What you submit in a form — a recommendation, contact request, event suggestion, or sponsor application — so we can respond and act on it.
- Basic usage data — pages viewed, device type, city-level location, referring source — through our analytics (PostHog) so we can understand what is useful and improve it.
- Email engagement — opens and clicks — through our email provider (Beehiiv), so we know what is landing.
If you are a client with a portal account (a sponsor / business we work with):
- Your business record — business name, contact details, branding, plan.
- Data you put into the portal — the customers and leads you capture, review contacts and feedback, digital cards, documents you upload, your signed service agreement, notes, and to-dos.
- Who signs in — the email address you use to log in (we use magic links; there is no password we store).
We collect this to run the services you are paying for, respond to you, meet our agreement with you, and keep the account secure. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to train AI models.
Who we share it with
We use a small set of service providers to run the business — for example website hosting (Vercel), our database and login (Supabase), email delivery (Beehiiv, Resend), analytics (PostHog), error monitoring (Sentry), maps (Google Maps), and bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile). They handle data on our behalf under their own terms. We may also disclose information if the law requires it. We do not sell your data.
Your data rights
You own your data, and you can act on it two ways:
- Get a copy. If you have a portal account, open Settings → Your data and download a full copy (JSON or CSV) any time — your business record, customers and leads, reviews, cards, documents, agreement, and notes. If you do not have a portal account, email brayden@whatsup208.com and we will send you what we hold.
- Ask us to delete it. In Settings → Your data, choose "Request account deletion." That files a request with the owner. It does not delete anything on its own — we confirm with you and complete it deliberately, and we aim to finish within 30 days. Some records may be kept where the law requires (for example, tax and billing records), and routine backups roll off on their own schedule.
- Unsubscribe from email any time using the link in the footer of any email we send, or by emailing us.
We are a small Idaho business. If you live in a state with a comprehensive privacy law (California, Virginia, Colorado, and others), we will honor the equivalent rights on request — just email us.
Cookies
We use cookies for things the site needs to work (like remembering your selected city and keeping you signed in) and for analytics. You can refuse cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work if you do.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), database row-level security, and limited access to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of an incident affecting your data, we will notify you as the law requires.
Children
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child gave us information, email us and we will delete it.
